Getting the generic "Error...If this was caused..." message when trying to open the gal map (in snowflake).
I think this happened last game when not all NPCs had joined the game but there were forces in their name. Not sure if this is the same or not

Re: Planet "Depth" Discussion/Suggestions
Considered something similar in the past... though probably never documented it. It was the planet concept for 1.5 ;) Should be some threads about it lurking on that forum Edit: Found one of them...I'm pretty sure there is a much more detailed one on there somewhere, but the high level overview is ...

Re: Politics - How to Improve?
I have fewer fleshed out ideas on politics, but I'll throw some funny ones and reasonable ones out there: 5. Let evil people be president. If an evil person becomes president, give them the vote option to legalize evil goods (no fed inspection at legalized ports). Exp gains might need to be modifie...

Re: Planet "Depth" Discussion/Suggestions
One idea we had a while back was to add different types of planets: Once the planet hits level 10 you have to select the type of planet you want it to be (Lander, Financial, Support, Defense, Production, etc). For NPC planets we could just randomly choose a type Based on the type, you have a set of ...

Re: New Dawn - Initial Impressions
I like the quadrant aspect of the main neutral. It makes it feel much more territorial (which I like). Big grouping of key items (HHG, Nuke, PPL, etc) is an interesting idea too. Makes for a nice hunting ground if people decide to log off in fed. I'm undecided about the neutrals behind the planet ga...

I agree (at least with the size of the player base as it is now)Sufex wrote:I never understood this. The only thing it did was people off. Who cares if someone alliance hops, it means there is activity.

Re: The State of SMR 12/15/2011
Here are some of the ideas from 1.5 that I could find with a quick forum search (from the 1.5changelog)...Not sure if everyone has access to that forum, so I'll just quote here New Trading: There is a x% chance that when you visit a port you will be informed of some special deal by the port owner (A...

Re: The State of SMR 12/15/2011
What were everyone's thoughts when we started the planets at higher level (NPC owned)? As I recall, the NPC planets were randomly constructed which didn't play well with the 1.5 concept of designer planets, i.e. you had less control over what type of planet it could be. Having mid-level NPC planets...
