Re: Galaxy Ringu

Yes, that sounds right. A launching point for attack and/or defense by teams could be one way these little planets come into play. The map shows two dwarf planets (D) in front of each planet cluster. I took these as being representative of my idea to have many small asteroid/dwarf planets scattered ...

Re: Galaxy Ringu

Thanks for the positive response, guys. What's considered "normal" speed these days? 1.5 and 650 max turns? I guess that would work. Distance-wise, closer to 100 sectors apart than 50. IMO the further would be better because the point is for them to be far away. If you speed it up or make ...

Galaxy Ringu

Think of one big galaxy like a round series of rings. At the center, the racial ports & HQ are grouped together in the galactic core. Beyond the core, the mid zone is a large ring of open space filled with random racial ports, ship/weapon locations, CA, etc. and a handful of dwarf planets (like ...

Re: New Dawn - Initial Impressions

Get more people to try the game. Of those that try it, encourage them to keep playing. This is the only solution to get the game everyone wants. Forcing the few who remain to play one way or another is a losing proposition.

The lottery is pretty easy to win if you have money to throw into it and stack the odds. Fix the lottery and I think this is a good idea.

Re: Politics - How to Improve?

Sorry if I missed that bit of detail. I like the idea of an elected president if that is what you mean. As for where those fees and bribes would go, I can think of a couple of ideas: a) the money could go into a slush fund that the president and council have access to b) the money goes no where, i.e...

Along the lines of planets having economies... Population This is a value of how many people live on the planet at a given time. Small planets have low or no population. Population grows or shrinks in relation to infrastructure and morale. Infrastructure The number of support structures built on a p...

Re: Politics - How to Improve?

This takes alignment out of the presidency all together. So being president is all about who has the highest experience. That takes away something from the game instead of adding to it IMO. ... I like the idea of making different types of peace votes (weapon only, trade only, both). I'm assuming by ...

Re: New Layout

Freon, my point wasn't about the general concept of graphics slowing down load time. It was about this particular graphic being placed where it is in the game and the impact it would have on the strategies used in the game. I'm all for spicing up planets with graphics to make them more interesting/a...
