Do you need to spend hours watching though to be a competitive say fighter? In those browser games can you play say 1 hour daily and still be able to compete? Blade have you played since recent mine changes? If you have 5 or so ships in sector you can fire on mines, kill them in one hit, all before they fire back on you. This means they DO NO DAMAGE. You can clear a whole sector with one person's turns and NEVER UNOING! It's a joke. Hence my statement, I...

Nothing I say is against anyone but general feelings on a game.
SMRealms isn't even in google on the first important pages if you search browser based space strategy. That needs to be addressed.

I would not call this a hard strategy game.
You dont have to think about weapons, or think about what to build on a planet or even what goods to trade as that is a given. Diversity is a hard strategy game, this game lacks diversity at the moment.

Problem is there are no new players to promote the style of game your after. The player base is use to having things fast, easy and compact. If someone has to use 100-150 turns to weapon up then use 50 turns on tracking one kill they throw their toys out the pram and demand a smaller, faster more co...

Just goes to prove the combat is wrong.. Ships should not be seen as how many hits they are worth. The difference in accuracy from what I think you are saying is perfectly acceptable sergei 0-150k exp is 0-33 levels which is 33% 150-300k exp is 33-42 which is only a 9% gain So as your level goes up ...
