I'd like to point out that it's not all vets, RCK. Jester and I are having fun, and both of us are getting new players involved in the new aspects of the game.
It seems that most of the complaining comes from ONE alliance, the same alliance that complains every time something doesn't go THEIR way.

Re: New Dawn - Initial Impressions
I liked the map, I felt it allowed for a lot of different strategies and allow smaller alliances to have some fun, too. That opinion has not changed.
I have noticed more activity (and not just because of the trade bots), which is crucial in this game. We'll see how it plays out.

Re: Daily bonus
I've seen this suggestion used in many other games, and it works with me. Though often I log in just to get the bonus and don't play that day due to time constraints. But I agree that it will help players stay connected to the game.

Re: The State of SMR 12/15/2011
I like the idea of ports changing goods, I've played several games where this occurred (TDZK, SEI). I also like Page's idea of mission based motivation, too, which is unique ( I have not come across a browser based space trade game that did this). This round made it very clear that planets/planet ga...

Re: An Open Letter to the SMR Community
I"m in favor of a middle ground. I like having more alliances, rather than just two. But as stated before, we have a lot of vets going solo because there was no room at the inn.
I think someone suggested a 17 vet cap? I'd be happy with that.

Re: Voting Sites
I'm afraid RCK is innocent, I play Aegis (a nice slow game that serves as a time killer when I'm on break), and I copied the links from their website when I gave them to Page.RCK your link takes me to vote for some aegis game. Ploy did not work!

Re: Voting Sites
I sent Page a list of about six voting sites, 4 - 5 rounds ago. I know he posted them to the admins.

Re: An Open Letter to the SMR Community
Well this is where we differ in opinion, because to me the newbies I have trained that stick around do so in high pressure atmospheres. Action brings people back imo. We do differ here, because I've seen players leave alliances because the alliances were too hard core. In every war game I played, t...
