How do I keep people from killing me when I log out?

In SMR, there are only 2 types of absolute protection: Newbie protection and Federal protection. Newbie turns will protect you no matter what. One of the biggest mistakes a new player can make is dropping their 500 turns worth of newbie protection. During newbie protection nothing can harm you so yo...

What do I do first?

This, of course, depends on what you want to do. The logical first step is to trade and make some money and experience. To do this you need to find somewhere to trade, but more on this in another question. Having maps of your galaxy or wherever else you want to trade would help. Remember that your n...

Yeah, looks great Deke. Maybe you, Nariis and I should start coordinating on putting together a help site... I have a lot of stuff already written out in my "Newbie Help Desk" that I'm sure would be useful. It would really be so much better with some kind of pictures or interactive-ness, h...

I have created a totally free help alliance in NG3 called "Newbie Help Desk". The password is "help", and anyone can join or leave whenever they like. I have full game maps that I am willing to send whenever anyone asks, as well as complete SMC maps and help using SMC. On the all...

I see you have already had some experience in this game by the phrasing of your question. The best way, IMO, to make cash is to: 1. Trade high profit routes while you have newbie turns. 2. Bank your cash before you run out of newbies. 3. Find a less popular route to trade on. 4. Buy a better ship on...

Yep. But watch out, the world of warbirds can be a deadly one. With that Devastator you won't have any scouts which makes hunting traders a bit more difficult. And no mines to stop the unsuspecting ship right in your sights. As for hunting the hunters, the Devastator is a good ship to do it in. But ...

To see a cloaked person in the same sector as you, you need to be the same level or higher. You can also cause a person to decloak by making them fire. As was mentioned, this can be done by laying mines (the cloaker has to uncloak to fight back against mines) or attacking a member of the cloakers al...

/me mumbles about having to make a locations site for every stupid little month-long game...

As for the answer to your other question: not really, unless the game designer chooses to make them that way :)
