Expanding the bounty system

Remove interest on bounties. Instead I'd like the system to reward real bounty hunters.

- A bounty hunter can take a specific contract
- If the target is killed within 72 hours, you're paid 2 x the bounty + 5.000 XP
- You can only take on one contract at a time
- Only one hunter can take a specific contract at a time
- A news item tells when a contract is accepted, but not who the hunter is.
- When the target dies, the news item tell that it was a contract fulfilled ("Bounty Hunter Finds Target - Joe was killed by John in Sector #455)
- Create a HoF entry for the true bounty hunters

I think this could add another dimension to the game, with minimal general game changes...

I like the concept. Doesn't change gameplay but adds more depth to the current setup.

people will add $1 bountys and kill somone over and over and make crap loads of exp.

Ah, didn't see that - yeah.. probably wouldn't want to have an exp bonus.

Good point. Perhaps just giev ppl +10% on the XP for the kill. I feel there should be an XP bonus, but make it related to the kill.

Also - perhaps set a minimum on bounties ? Say 1 mill credits ?

We can't stop ppl from kiling eachother over and over again - but hey, we can ban them when they do :lol:

Its cool, adds depth yet dun screw anyone over. Hmmm, maybe cost a little something to take the bounty? like 5% of the bounty amount? That way someone cant keep claiming the bounty to ensure he gets the chance to kill the person with the only benfit? Force hunter and the other guy to work hard?

This depends on how the kill exp gains change for next game. If it doesnt change very much compared to this a exp bonus would be too much.

Perhaps you pay a deposit of 5% of the bounty. If you do not claim the bounty within the time limit, that amount is added to the original bounty for the next hunter to collect.
