Port Upgrade in News

Just cause a port is being raided doesn't mean it has decreased in level. You still have to go scout that port to get updated maps.

u know what.. i thought about this idea and i found it being great actaully...

1st: yes give us port upgrades so that i can update my smc and have better idea where i need scouts when hunting
2nd: remove port raids from news (less important) and kills (most important) from news so that ppls dont fear me once i get kill in their galaxy
3rd: ill support any other idea that will increase my chance of getting kills.

1. Without kills what would news be?
2. How exactly is this increasing your chances of getting a kill? It will be exactly the same. Everyone will just know about the new routes.

it increases chances of getting kills because if there arent kills in the news, you can't see where he could very well be hunting, therefore, people will go to trade on the new improved ports, completely unaware of the fact that he just got 3 kills there in the past 45 minutes

It's not a bad idea. I would think a port would want to announce that it has upgraded and can now offer more and better service to its spacefaring clientele.

Thing is, the announcement would do more than help traders. It would also give away sensitive information that alliances don't want announced. That (I think) is why there is such resistance.

Make the president of a race get a msg everytime a port owned by his race upgrades

Would make being president a bit more valuable and he can decide how he wants to use the information.
