As-is it is obviously not a game killer, but we need to think about the perception of new players. The perception by many vets is that losing 20% of your ship in a single action is unreasonable. Will new players want to keep playing this game when their ships are constantly being gashed open in this way?

just give a gadget to all new players that reduces the chance of getting hit by 50%

I do agree with you HK, but if I manage to make 120+ mils a day and 25k xp, AND to dig up another ship size level... it's not a lot, really.

I gotta admit, it used to be really annoying, but maybe it was tweaked, or I just adapted and got used to it, but it doesnt seem to be as big a problem as it did first week or so into the game
