CROSSROADS -- GP EDITION -- 17

this edition aka "READING GALACTIC POST EDITION : LOTUS IS SO COOL WE ALL LOVE HIS HAIR! GO LOTUS YOUR SO DAMN COOL!"

Amigo's On The Roll

After looking at rankings of Alliances, i noticed a small bunch of players in the top 15 alliances with only 8 people in the alliance. Further down the list there are other well known alliances with up to 30 players but they just cant get above this certain alliance. Who are they? The Amigo's. It seems they are sneaking up behind the top ten fast and it seems that they appeared from nowhere.. Saying that, they have been around for about 1 month so far. The question is, will they last? And will the top ten be making room for them in the future? Like most things, only time will tell!

Port Raids in Crossroads

As many have no doubt noticed, there has been a recent outbreak of Port Raids in Crossroads. Not just any one galaxy, this has been an outbreak of universal proportions. Now, some may call these actions brave, but in the opinion of this reporter, it is completely and utterly stupid. Really, think about it. You’re sitting in your ship one day, and think, Hmm that would be a good raid, then when you get warned they have 2000 Shields, 2000 Armor, and lots of Combat Drones? These ports aren’t Seven Eleven’s boys and girls, they are hard core Ports, that are equipped to fend off most attackers. It may seem like a good way to get your name in the papers, but at the cost of millions of credits, and countless experience worth it all? In my opinion, and mark this, my opinion there is no mark of bravery in raiding a port, when you’re the only attacking force. It’s pure stupidity. If you must raid, raid with a few allies sitting in the sector, or do it near an Uno. As well, as that, what of the traders thinking an easy kill of a port raider? Dark Prince, was killed by members of ~The Shadow Guild~ in sector #848, as he tried to apparently stop them from raiding the port, Jdawg420 claimed another casualty by this. ~The Shadow Guild~ Issued the following statement: “We’re sorry to see such a brave guy go, but he got in the way, and we don’t take kindly to that!”. Dark Prince, has yet to issue a statement about his actions, though it’d probably be along the lines of “DOH!”. The moral of the story is, Don’t raid ports alone, and don’t try to ambush multiple port raiders alone! You never know who’ll have the 36/20 Dev, waiting to take you out to the cleaners!

Editor of the Galactic Post uptight.

That's right dear readers, here's another story that won't get published. The Editor of the Galactic Post will refuse to publish anything humorous or from off of left field no matter how well it's written. This reporter's sources have revealed that the editor is uptight, but it's not his fault. Apparently he's been adding too much starch to his undergarments on laundry day. As a result many reporters (the many being me in this case) have felt unappreciated and therefore have not contributed further to the GP. Hopefully this situation will rectify itself in the future.

Terrorists Purged in Midnight Raid

In a joint statement from THS and LOM, the leaders of these alliances announced that the terrorist threat from Anconus galaxy has finally been stopped. In a massive raid conducted around midnight servertime on 8/3/2003, 19 LOM & THS warships passed through the warp from Panumbra and started clearing the minefields. As regular GP readers will know, thes same two alliances have twice before attempted to destroy the Armada alliance, describing it as "a terrorist organization". These earlier raids both ended in disaster as well-organized Armada-members fought off the attackers with minimal losses. This time however the dice rolled differently. Led with great authority by Ender the fleet stuck together and kept on target. Facing the dreaded defences of a full level 70 planet, the attackers persisted even when head-trigger Zeek was sent to HQ for the second time. Once the planetary defences were destroyed the expected terrible showdown followed. The attackers had to regroup (i.e. buy new ships) twice before the last Armada ship limped from the scene. It was little surprise to learn later, that the defenders were led by Incision - former leader of the fearless Faded Image alliance. Quick to reclaim the planet and thus deny LOM/THS the ultimate prize, the defenders inflicted terrible losses on the invaders and though several Armada members carried 9 digit bounties, it's an open question whether the raid paid off in financial terms. But it's safe to say, that LOM/THS finally vindicated themselves after the earlier failures. They carried the day and took down the first level 70 planet of this game. This GP reporter however also finds it fair to say that Armada once again proved a formidable foe. They stood tall against superior forces and showed the world that the "terrorist" label is perhaps undeserved by these valiant defenders.

Omega-be-gone

Yes folks, it is true, OmegaRenegade is gone. He left shortly after writing this article which will not get published, and is driving off into the... well its morning, but heading west so... back into the night? Anyways he is no more for a while, so try not to cry too much, he will (probably) return once his money runs out, not that anyone will notice since this article will not get published. BUH-BYE!
