Ultra Blue Goes Red over Alpha Attacks

Recently, Ultra Blue was the subject of an unprovoked assault by the fleets of Alpha Factor. Entering Ultra Blue claimed territory, Alpha Factor proceeded to bomb the recently colonized worlds of the Blue, killing one early settler. While Ultra Blue defense forces later reclaimed these early settlements, the Starfire clan was enraged. Head of the Starfires, Lance Starfire, was quoted as saying, "You knock down our planets, we knock down your whole alliance." While family doctors soon were called in to treat him for apolexy, Lance remained adamant after his recovery, and war has since been declared. However, will any actions follow this verbal threat? We will see.

And the Cow Jumped Over the Planetary Freighter?

Recently, an increase in the amount of sightings of the fabled “Cow” has been spotted by traders. They claim that this large snow white with black spotted “Cow” appears out of no where, and jumps over their ships. The Intergalactic Federation has looked into these accounts, and has concluded that the “Cow” was merely a flying comet. Witnesses to this strange sighting are still skeptical, and plan on starting their own private investigation into the “Mystery of the Flying Cow.”

Crusaders Find a Cause

A series of skirmishes between two rival alliances has broken out near the Centarus galaxy. Civil authorities in Centarus report that 11 ships bearing the Dogs of War insignia entered Centarus space and passed thru Bombs over Baghdad. The fleet was apparently headed to Ursa Major, said to be the home of the Crusaders, after striking and reducing to rubble a Dynasty homeworld. DoW ships had to navigate thru and clear deep minefields, and one ship in the attacking fleet was reportedly reduced to rubble as they approached their target: a small Crusaders planet. A single Crusaders ship was in the area it's pilot attempted a diversionary tactic but it was destroyed by mines.

Witnesses say that the Dogs of War then converged their 10 war birds over the Crusaders planet, which was rated a level 12 by the federal planetary defense commission. The maximum rating that the board can give any planetary defenses is 70. In four coordinated attacks, the 10 ships easily overcame the planet's weak defenses. One Crusader ship was parked on the surface and was destroyed in the attack. The Dogs of War then set about laying a minefield of their own around the crippled planet. They restored its defenses to maximum, reported then to be a level 8 after the damage caused by the attacks. Leaving two ships on the surface, the rest of the DoW ships warped out of Ursa Major to park under federal beacons in nearby Centarus and elsewhere. Shortly after the attack was over and the Dogs of War had left the area, several Crusader ships were sighted clearing the mines that approached the planet. This work continued for at least an hour. Some time later, local gunshop owner Odi Nidamto said that his customers were surprised to see a small number of Crusader war birds fly past his shop. "We didn't know where those three ships were going," said Nidamto, "but it was obvious they were armed and ready for some kind of fighting action."

With the DoW minefield reduced, the three Crusaders ships were able to approach and attain an orbit over their former world and begin a counter-assault to take it back. Eyewitnesses say it took 5 carefully placed shots before the defenses were down. The Dogs of War ships parked on the surface attempted to defend against the Crusaders, but were destroyed. After the planet was retaken, more Crusader ships arrived to fortify the minefields and planetary defenses. Ships lost in this one skirmish alone were counted at 2 Crusader ships and 3 Dogs of War ships, estimated value of 20 million credits and 40 million credits respectively. Damage done to the planet during both attacks was estimated at 40 million credits. Conflict between these two organizations are now expected to continue to heat up. Will the Crusaders strike back?

Dogs of War Left Howling

Warships were again spotted around the warp tunnel between Centarus and Bombs Over Baghdad. Witnesses say the seven ships were war birds of various races but all bore the Dogs of War insignia on their hulls. Two Crusaders ships were at the warp to defend. Brief fighting took place around the Baghdad warp and inside Baghdad as the Dogs of War advanced, and a third Crusaders ship joined the fray. Three of the seven Dogs of Wars ships were destroyed in this early fight, while one Crusaders ship was destroyed. Yet the determined DoW and Crusaders pilots quickly re-shipped and returned to the galaxy to continue the battle. By this time, more Crusaders ships had arrived to defend. However, the Dogs of War, led by Lotus, whose steady efforts confirmed 3 kills despite 2 ships shot out from under him over the course of the night, continued to advance. The Dogs of War destroyed two more Crusaders ships as they entered Ursa Major.

The two alliances squared off just inside the galaxy. One witness saw seven DoW ships rush into a sector with five Crusaders ships defended by a cluster of mines. The Dogs of War ships plowed thru the mines and began firing. Lead by the efforts of Mentally Disturbed and Gunslinger, who had 7 kills and 1 death between them, Crusaders returned fire just as quickly. The combined firefight was furious and fast, with blast after blast raining down on both attacker and defender. The force of the attack was so fierce that car alarms on planets 10 sectors away began wailing. When the floating rubble of broken ships had cleared, it became apparent to onlookers that all five Crusaders ships remained, though badly crippled, and that there were no Dogs of War ships remaining in the sector. The Crusaders had successfully held off the attack. Ships lost in this second assault on the Crusaders were counted at 3 Crusaders with an estimated cost of 35 million credits, and 10 Dogs of War, estimated at 130 million credits.

Milliways Most Wanted

Tonight on Milliways Most Wanted we will tell you of robbery, armed assault, and violent murder. The Thevian know only as "that A guy", as his real name, Arcitiumomab, is far too difficult to pronounce, has pillages Mom and Pop ports and small freighters across the galaxies, often slaughtering the occupants merely for the sick pleasure of the kill. The Federal government is currently offering a bounty on Arcitumomab worth over 22750000 credits, yet this number is expected to rise the longer Arcitumomab continues his brutal crime spree. It is unknown at this time exactly how many millions in damages and theft that A guy has caused to date, however, authorities are grim with their predictions, merely stating it has already been far too much. If you have any information about this man and his heinous crimes, please contact MMW at wavelength 4563.43 or your local police department.
