Ursa Major in Constant Upheaval

Just hours after Death Control had taken possession of Ursa Major, a small but heavily armed Crusaders fleet struck back and reclaimed their lost planets. The recently captured planets had not yet been fully fortified and were easily taken with no loss of life on either side. Unfortunately for the Crusaders, the experienced Death Control planet busting crew were back in Ursa Major before a day had passed, and this time there was no escape for parked Crusaders traders. The end of the raid left 3 more Crusaders dead and all Ursa Major planets back in Death Control hands.

Yet no peace was in the near future for the shell-shocked Ursa population (,those who have survived the unending conflict,) as the Crusader fleets once again returned to regain their home. While no casualties occurred in this most recent exchange of power in the Ursa Major galaxy, and the territory remains as yet in Crusader hands, it is unlikely that this war torn corner of the universe has seen the last of combat in its skies.

Ultra Blue Attempts to Waver Death's Control
In their first major show of force, the Starfire clan stuck towards the heart of Death Control territory this past weekend. Assembling a fleet which at one point numbered 16 vessels, Ultra Blue made a stab at the center of Death Control power. Plowing thru perimeter defenses and bypassing targets within the Scutum galaxy, Ultra Blue moved into Lacerta, rumored to be Death Contol's home base.

Yet difficulties arose, as a Death Control response force stalled the Ultra Blue advance, killing 2 vessels and losing one of their own. Thus, Ultra Blue chose to settle in on the first target available within Lacerta, and proceeded to pound the planetary defenses to rubble. Yet Death Control was persistant, and 2 more Starfire vessels were lost during the planet's capture.

Ultra Blue was unable to celebrate their occupation for long, despite efforts to fortify their new territory. Death Control responded within 12 hours, recapturing their old land, at the cost of two of their own vessels. Prior to their execution, the few residents captured stated that their resistance was so fierce due to fear of Death Control reprisal for assisting the occupying forces.

Thevian Traders Ravaged by Mines

It seems the recent Dogs of War mining efforts in the Thevian galaxy are beginning to cause some trouble for traders. Multiple unexpecting traders have wondered into the mines over the last week and were quickly destroyed. Dogs of War seem to be ignoring this, continuing to spread more and more mines across the galaxy. It is unknown what their purpose for this expansive minefield could be but it is suspected that they may be attempting a takeover of the galaxy. This could mean the end of the Ursa Major war if Dogs of War have truely decided to give up their attempts there and settle into Thevian. Unfortunately, it is expected that within the next week Dogs of War will have made the Thevian galaxy impassible to other traders without intervention from the Federation.

Dogs of War Common Mongrels

In a recent turn of events, Dogs of War, specifically their leader Lotus, broke one of the strongest "Spirit of the Game" rules currently in existence. On the morning of 3/22/04 intergalactic time, two tentative allies in the fight vs Death Control assembled fleets for what was supposed to be an assault on Death Control assets. Yet, in a surprise turn of events, Lotus denied that assistance to Ultra Blue and their warships, making a claim that a supposed 'lack of funds' was reason for his expensive 15 warship and capital fleet not to participate in the raid. Dogs of War then proceeded to attack the innocent civilians of the Thevian Galaxy. Thus, hampered by a lack of numbers, the Ultra Blue 10 man fleet went to increase their own finances, port raiding themselves. The following conversation ensued when a Starfire lieutenant realized the proximity of the 2 fleets.

[16:16] Warlock> NAP
[16:17] Warlock> Immediately
[16:17] Warlock> 2 fleets
[16:17] Warlock> REAL CLOSE
[16:17] Warlock> ok?
[16:17] Warlock> While we PR
[16:17] LotuS_435> wtf?
[16:17] LotuS_435> where are you raiding
[16:17] Warlock> 1101
[16:17] LotuS_435> ok we wont go into salvene
[16:18] LotuS_435> you dont go thevian

However, Lotus never intended to keep his word. In fact, multiple reliable sources within that DoW fleet have stated that Lotus never even informed the fleet of the Non Aggression Pact reached with Ultra Blue. As operations proceeded, a member of the Starfire fleet received a message from Lotus, commanding that the Ultra Blue fleet abandon their efforts and depart, as DoW was possibly going to break the agreement and enter the space they had stated they would not. The UB member responded with a short, direct, and negative reply to this demand. Soon afterwards, when the Starfire fleet was moving to a new location, Dogs of War arrived en masse, firing on all Ultra Blue members they could find. The following were the regrettable and negative results of this dastardly act.

3/23/2004 1:28:27 AM Edain was killed by Cappuccino in Sector #1084
3/23/2004 1:32:03 AM Kush was killed by Mason in Sector #1046

Ultra Blue, inflamed by these backstabbing murderous actions, has sworn revenge above all else, to the point of, as some rumors state, desiring a realignment of who their enemies are. The unwarned, surprise ambush of a NAPed organization is considered one of the lowest moral actions that can be perpetrated by an alliance leader or his members, especially when deception is used to accomplish such. The facts of the matter have been submitted to the Galactic Post so as to let the public know the character and names of individuals without integrity that would perform such dastardly deeds .

Intergalactic Traders Furious Over Recent Port Raids

What started as simple attacks on small, family owned ports in far off galaxies has turned into a fully fledged war against port raiders and merchants. As many now know, countless raids by highly organized clans have destroyed several ports in galaxies throughout Federation control. "This is madness! How are we supposed to make a living this way?!" A disgruntled Thevian said. Several determining factors occur when an enemy raids a port. First off, that port loses valuable goods it can no longer sale. This forces wealthy merchants to trade in cheaper goods and get a less overall profit. "I am a galaxy renouned jeweler, left to sell nothing more than inferior products such as ore and food, what a waste on my reputation!" Torgon the self-proclaimed "elite-jeweler" argued. Quite often, when an enemy raids a port and is successful, they claim it for their race. This infuriates many traders, as they can no longer trade their do to the countless war contracts currently in commission. "I have to travel galaxies away into unsafe territory just to trade now. My race's ports all belong to the enemy now, and I dare not set foot in them." This as well as several other complaints seems to pile higher and higher every day. When asked what the Federation was going to do about all this, an official stated, "There is little we can do, until more peace talks resume." It seems the best we can do is attempt to reclaim our lost ports. The only drawback is, all the fighting over ports will eventually depreciate them into nothing. Whatever the cost, it looks as though merchants will soon become hunters, and ports will soon become extinct like the esquilax of the planet Woolite. -Moon Eye

Choose Your Poison Losing Toxicity

Recent reports have brought to light discontent within the ranks of Choose Your Poison, as members of the alliance grind their teeth at the CYP's apparent lack of coordinated activity. Inside sources report several key members are livid over the failure of CYP to accomplish fleet operations, and the general trend of many players to hunt and trade alone. These members, with several others behind them, are threatening rebellion if matters do not change to their satisfaction. WIll Choose Your Poison hold together? Or will their membership choose a new home?

Censorship: Threats of Force Against Our Editors

In a shocking and direct attempt at censorship, threats have been sent to the office of the Galactic Post thru unconventional channels. Earlier this evening, in the initial issue of The Irregular Post V. 2., an article entitled Dogs of War Common Mongrels was published stating the factual events that occurred two evenings ago. In a direct attempt to silence the media and prevent YOU, our readers, from knowing the truth, Lotus, leader of Dogs of War and perpetrator and mastermind behind the deeds described in said article, threatened Lance Starfire and the Starfire clan. One of our main editors here at the post is a member of this clan. "·LotuS· get warlock to take that article down or you will be seeing us soon" We here at the Post are appalled that instead of attempting to rectify the situation created by those immoral actions, Lotus has instead chosen to attempt to bully the Galactic Post with threats upon his family in a lowly attempt at censorship. While this paper will make no direct statements in regards to any judgment of character, merely deeds, we leave such decisions up to you, our readers, and ensure you we will continue to publish the news and the truth for your reading.
