Bible for Traders

As it was in the beginning,
Is now, and ever shall be.
Trading without end.

Planet Builder Saga

Once their was a trader thinking I want to do more. But he couldn't hunt...that's not something he's good at. So his new assignment was Planet Building. He jumped in his new Death Cruiser and made his way through Unknown Space.
There he found the galaxy with the alliance planets, but what next to do he didnt know. He landed on a planet and found out the planet was building a turret. He watched the construction plans and saw the power of the weapon.

He sat down for a few minutes thinking, and suddenly he realized this isn't the only planet here. He jumped up and launched from the planet over to the next one and helped with the management of a new generator.

He did this on all planets, thinking I can do this the whole day long but soon he was out of turns. On the last planet, a newly founded planet, were just were enough goods to build the first turret. He thought "I'm safe. The warps are mined and no-one can kill me." Then he fell asleep.

Because he was asleep he couldnt have noticed the warbirds laying around the other planet. They have noticed him, but waited until he was asleep. The ships were coming close now on the newbie builder. They opened fire on the planet, and the planet was not big enough to protect the builder and immediately was busted.

He found himself awake again in an escape pod at the home base of his race. Watching the video made from the escape pod, he knew the only thing he could do. In revenge, he laid a bounty on the planet busters, and he thought "What did I do wrong?" He sat down thinking nervously and went back to trading because he was a bad planet builder. Maybe next game, he thought...

The Order Storms Sagitta

Late one night, there was little action to be picked up in the quiet, DC-infested galaxy. But suddenly without warning a fleet that has been said by onlookers to number around 15 high end federal warships broke though the outer mine fields and advances quickly towards the DC planets in Sagitta.
Moving quickly and efficiently, the warbirds, bearing the Order insignia, proceeded to decimate the defenses of 6 planets in less than 50 minutes. They then proceeded to Taurus and performed various activities which are classified at this time. In the end, DC had lost 4 ships, including one of their highest cloakers, 6 mid level planets and an estimated 30 - 60 million credits in mines in the course of one hour.

DC Hands Out a T(k)O

In a bold move, The Order struck the highest known Death Control planet to date, having known about this planet since their busts in Taurus a week or two ago. This time the Death Control defenders were more than ready to ward off the invasion fleet.
The Order blasted thru the defenses of 2 planets, but when one popped, the attacking fleet pilots had a look of shock on their faces when 18 DC were suddenly in sector. After losing a single ship, the attackers returned and died en masse.

With recent losses racking up, some wonder whether TO can afford to continue the fight, both with morale and hard earned cash in short supply. But with experienced leader and cash cow Rufus Chang supporting the fleet, this reporter wouldn't expect a grand finale in the fireworks show anytime soon.

Death Control Challenged

Information regarding the outer planet galaxies of this universe are scarce, but reports have started coming in that some alliances intend to challenge the Death Control claim to the Yedric satellite galaxies. The Order, Faded Image and The Edge have been coordinating on raids into DC territory in an attempt to weaken the powerful alliance. The Order have been especially active in the attacks, taking in a member of Faded Image for their most recent raid, as well as trying to recruit Dogs of War members.
Unfortunately for the attackers, the raids have proven largely ineffective against the DC machine, with every raid to date resulting in more deaths for the attacking alliance than for DC. Death Control have immediately reclaimed any lost territory and are reportedly as efficient as ever at protecting their holdings with strategically placed mines. The latest TO raid was the most costly to date, withe active defense by Death Control warships destroying 8 attackers while losing only 2 of their own.

Is there a multi-alliance coalition forming against DC? How and when will DC retaliate? We certainly expect the conflicts in this corner of the universe to continue, and will make every effort to get accurate information out to our readers.

Federal Manhunt for DUI Suspect

Federal authorities have put out an all points bulletin to be on the lookout for a pilot known only as Durnk Dryver. This person has apparently been getting drunk on Creonti moonshine, jumping behind the wheel of his ship, and crashing into forces, creating a very unsafe environment in the galaxies.
According to officer Ynot B. Sober of the Federal nonDUI Taskforce (FnDUIT), DurnkDryver has lost a total of 38 ships to date because of his drunken carelessness. "It's a proven fact that alcohol slows your reaction time," said officer Sober. "And when you combine high speed spaceflight, 190 proof Creonti rotgut, and floating explosives, it can get ugly. This guy's pods are proof of that."

The Galactic Post was able to catch up with Durnk Dryver on one of his late night benders, and we asked Mr. Dryver about his string of pods. What were his plans for the future? Was he setting some kind of personal record? Did he fear the ever approaching grip of the authorities' noose? His slurred reponses were either nearly unintelligible, or in Spanish. "DUI is no mas," he said. "Se."

So the mystery of Durnk Dryver's motivation continues. If anyone has information as to the whereabouts of this drunken rogue pilot, please contact the Federal authorities on any white courtesy phone, or the FnDUIT hotline at 456789-3343-45.

Death Control Still Ruthless

Some political pundits said Death Control were not the ruthless killing machine of old. Some military analysts claimed DC were being limited to solely defensive operations. Some misinformed public opinion said that DC were being relegated to the role of targets for other, stronger alliances. Even the famous Creonti mystic Karkle Flaggerthwerp KaChing claimed DC had all been turned into a ring of giant Laphroaigian mushrooms (but he was probably drunk at the time - ed).
But the real Death Control came out in force from their secluded bases in the Yedric satellite galaxies to strike ruthlessly at the Legitimate Businessmen in the Bounced Outta Bounds galaxy. The BOB minefields and 2 LB defenders posed little threat to the heavily armed fleet, and both ships and mines were quickly destroyed. Although far from home and with supply lines stretched to the limit, the DC fleet proceeded to destroy the defenses of all 6 BOB planets, all rumored to be weakly defended.

The attackers came across a 5 ship LB squadron on planet 3602, but caught by surprise and outgunned, the defnders could do little against the invasion fleet.

The end of the operation saw 8 LB dead, their planets in ruins, and their minefields decimated. Will LB be able to recover from this blow, and is this the sign of new DC offensive operations against other alliances? Only time will tell what this military powerhouse has planned for the Awakening universe, but there will be many planet inhabitants sleeping a little uneasily in their beds tonight.
