(Beerfest) EXTRA: Rogues Engage System Failure

Post by Alexis »

EXTRA: GP Introduces Live Coverage

The Galactic Post released the use of its new technology during Sunday's attacks, as the universe was introduced to the Galactic Post Wireless Newsline. The GP sent out its very own reporters to the scenes in order to provide up-to-the-minute coverage on the breaking news. The system's feedback was positive, as some traders were even surprised.

"When did the Major News get so specific?" remarked one baffled trader.

Operations can be times of extreme crisis or supreme triumph, and the Galactic Post pledges to be on the spot to report to the universe the latest happenings. The journal thanks its readers for supporting the Wireless Newsline, and also hopes that this feature will continue to sufficiently serve the community.

EXTRA: Rogues Pummel Zili

The Zili galaxy was overrun and captured in a first for the relatively peaceful Rogue Squadron.

Early Monday morning, a fleet of 13 ships appeared at the warp to Zili. They moved through the warp and cleared the worst of the System Failure mines. Following that, they systematically blitzed the System Failure planet galaxy and captured every planet. System Failure was unable to mount more than a token defense, which consisted of Jester's moving of mines in an attempt to delay the Rogues.

The Galactic Post was able to catch Rogue Squadron leader, Wedge Antilles, after he emerged from sleeping off the victory party. He had this to say:

"I am very happy with how my guys performed. I'm especially happy with the guys who led the Op; their performance was excellent. We've proven we can coordinate a successful Op. This won't be the last you see of us."

The triumphant Rogues left a swath of destruction in their wake as they warped back through the wormhole toward federally protected zones. They busted all eight planets and shot down 12 SF players, including Jester. Only one Rogue ship was shot down during the fighting.

The question remains: Can Rogue Squadron continue what they've started and retain sovereignty in Zili?

EXTRA: Ops on the Mind

A calm in space was broken on Sunday evening by a fleet of Rogue Squadron ships, who set their sights on the Zili galaxy. The news came as a shock, as this was documented as Rogue Squadron's first organized operation. What made the shock twofold was that they targeted the juggernaut System Failure infrastructure.

Official reports indicate that this assault led to the capture of all System Failure planets in the galaxy, and twelve System Failure casualties to one Rogue downfall.

In Rogue Squadron's wake, however, was a retaliation effort by System Failure that reclaimed all of their planets. Amidst the rebuttal, System Failure met Rogue reinforcements outside of the Rogue interim base. This skirmish led to ten Rogue casualties to nine downed System Failure ships.

Analysts agree that subsequent operations are expected, and that these battles will have a significant affect on Beerfest's outcome. They also expect that System Failure will have to adapt to accommodate the newly recognize military power.

"I support Rogue Squadron 110%..." shared Army of Cuda representative, LotuS, reminding the universe that System Failure is now fighting on more than one front.

Harry Krishna was more reserved in his statements, refusing to take sides on account of having ties with both alliances. "But the kill count is currently 26-9 in favor of Rogue Squadron, so I think it is clear who is winning..." articulated Krishna.

Former Rogue Squadron officer, SpaceBaron, reminded the Galactic Post that while System Failure was preparing their counter attack, the Crusaders were beginning their siege on the Army of Cuda's homeworld. He recalled that a couple of AoC fighters encountered the System Failure forces before realizing that their headquarters was under attack. He felicitated Rogue Squadron's ability to pull together as an alliance, and added that what seemed like a three way battle for domination has now become a quartet.

The Galactic Post has been unable to inquire any System Failure officials for comment thus far, but the journal will publish their statements when they become available.
