SMR News

SMR is proud to announce a new round starting March 28 at 19:00 Server Time - CET (18:00 GMT, 14:00 EDT).

This new game round should be fun and filled with lots of excitement. Plan to be online to get a head start on the other players. And don't worry if you've not created a new account, you can sign in with your old account and it will automatically be upgraded for you! (Assuming the login name is free)

Page (coder) has added a lot of new features to the game (don't worry! most don't change the core gameplay, just improve the overall experience :) ), a full list of changes is available in-game under the SMR v1.6.4 link in the bottom right.

One the these changes is that there is now in-built auto-refresh which means no more need to keep hitting the Current Sector link. It also uses very little network traffic, so should still be quick even if you're still stuck with dial-up! However if you're not a fan then feel free to disable this under Preferences.

Another change is that Freon22 and Page have finished (well there may still be a few oddities) designing a new interface that changes the look of the game. The default interface is still the same SMR that we all love and know. So to try this new interface you need to click on Preferences then scroll down the page until you see Template. Click the dropdown menu and select the Freon22 template, then click the Change CSS Options button. Another feature is that you can use custom css files to alter the look of the game for yourself and there is also the option for colour schemes (currently the options are limited, but feel free to submit your own!)

We hope to see you soon and remember to also visit the SMR web board.
