Newsletter #25

Post by seldum »

Dear Player,

We hope this newsletter finds you well!

SMR is proud to announce a new round starting Today November 6th at 15:00 Server Time - CET (14:00 GMT, 09:00 EDT). This new game round is named Winter Wonderland as it will carry us into winter and through the holiday season. The new round will feature various changes to the game, both in the code and in the form of ship changes. A complete list of the changes can be found in game by clicking the version number at the bottom right of the page, alternatively details of the majority of the changes can be found here: http://smrcnn.smrealms.de/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11323

he ship changes this game are largely focused on the early hunters, they will be gaining additional speed and firepower at the cost of some defence (those defenseless traders won't be shooting back after all ;) ) and WQ Human will be having the Rogue turned into a cloaked hunter. The top racials also have some slight price adjustment too. The complete list of changes to the ships can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... fM2c#gid=2

Another major change will be one that is unseen to players. That is a code clean up and streamlining of the code making it easier to work with and improve. This might initially cause a few bugs but they will be quickly resolved and in the long run it will prevent many more bugs. Remember if you do find a bug you should immediately report it to an Admin in game or in chat. Page, MrSpock, GrayDeath, RCK or JettJackson will be available to help you with your bug reports. Also if you can't get in touch with an admin you can use the report a bug link in game, it will be on the left hand side of the game page.

The last major change to the game will be the alliance cap. This game we are reducing the number of vets that are allowed to join an alliance down to 13 with a total alliance cap of 25. What this will hopefully do is help promote recruitment of newer players and broaden the game's horizons. Any new player that joins an alliance and becomes a vet will be grandfathered into the alliance, so it won't count against the alliance cap

We hope to see you in game soon and tell a friend about us we welcome all new comers to the game!!

Thank you,

The SMR Administration Team
