I recently found out that when landed on a planet you can see the current sector/surrounding sectors with a scanner when using the galaxy map, I know this isn't how it used to be and I may have accidentally added this (galaxy map uses same code as local map to make it a lot easier to manage than it used to be).
What are people's thoughts on this? I think it could be useful tactically but possibly too useful, be nice to hear the arguing over the good and bad points of this :P
Galaxy Map Planet Scan
Re: Galaxy Map Planet Scan
No reason why a planet would not have a scanner, I think it's quite cool. Gives fleeing ships from a planet a chance to fine a safe route IF they are quick enough.
The truth is there, just don't look blindly

Re: Galaxy Map Planet Scan
I dont see an issue, as was said a planet would have a scanner
Re: Galaxy Map Planet Scan
Why shouldnt a planet have a scanner? its gotta target EV's somehow.
Re: Galaxy Map Planet Scan
Kinda a cool change.......
You won't be able to tell how many ships are around but if your planet is being attacked you will know if the sector above it is empty or not. Doesn't change gameplay too much.
