How about reimplimenting the alliance politics feature?
It was one of my most fond features that I remember in classic SM...Having NAPS, planetary naps, wars, alliances, etc. It seems the game population would also support this feature.

I liked that feature too.
What part of lockbox do you not understand!?
Re: How about reimplimenting the alliance politics feature?
yeah it was fun and especially helpful for inter-alliance ops on planets.

Re: How about reimplimenting the alliance politics feature?
coded alliances were part of the reason 1.5 failed. Should a playerbase grow back up, I could possibly see them being re-implimented. As of right now, they only hinder SMR.

Yea, right.Baalzamon wrote:Should a playerbase grow back up,...

I don't think the coded naps made that big of a different on it failing. I think if you just took a look at 1.5 you should be able to see why it failed. Look at balance, look at the super ships, the ton of exper and money that was so easy to make in the game I could go on and on. The idea behind it was good its just no one was willing to balance it. Eveytime it was brought up one person or another would fight to keep what they thought was their little advantage no matter what.Baalzamon wrote:coded alliances were part of the reason 1.5 failed.
It was opened up to soon but then thats what everyone wanted.
Re: How about reimplimenting the alliance politics feature?
Coded alliances was removed from SM for a very good reason, they thought it made super alliances too easy with the "small" player base they said the had, so bringing it back to SMR IMO would be bad, until our playerbase grows.

You mean coded treaties not alliances, anyway SM may have removed naps after they had shut down then reopened. But while I was playing they had never removed naps. Treaties were removed here in SMR not in SM, and if they did remove naps when they reopened the treaties was the least of their troubles.Blade wrote:Coded alliances was removed from SM for a very good reason,
But then who cares anyway, I didn't think treaties in classic SMR was a good idea anyway.

You might be right actually.Freon22 wrote:You mean coded treaties not alliances, anyway SM may have removed naps after they had shut down then reopened. Either way coded treaties = super alliances and that is bad for us currently, it is bad enough when 20 vets get together, let alone 40 or 60

but at the same time... if a bunch of vets were to do something like that, then they would have a lot less people to kill. Yes they would be a super alliance but this wouldn't be very much fun for some of them...they may break off and form a resistance force to the super alliance and ally themselves with the other alliances against this so called 'super alliance'. Sounds like a fun fight to me actually.
