Seldum (S) vs. Anz (A) (COMMENTARY BY JOULDAX)

S 1. JettJackson - TERRIBLE PICK

A 2. Hugh - Azn takes the master planet builder, scouting report has hugh as mildly unreliable to leave the galaxy but a solid pick nonetheless

S 3. Sergei - the russian hitman, joins Seldum, solid pick for an attacking player defense needs a bit of polishing

A 4. XDemonX - XDX OFF THE BOARD IN A SHOCKER.but he's got good upside potential.

S 5. Crusher - kind of a trade pick, if you get what I mean (wink wink)

A 6. Bouncer - a good value pick. Seldum must have an interesting strategy. Meanwhile, azn's dartboard is working out very well. Seldum brooding after having bouncer stolen out from under him.

S.7. Gatlin - likes mining and long walks on the beach

A 8. Jouldax - @Jouldax interviews himself. (it got awkward)

S 9. Rain - RAIN BEFORE ASP. Solid player, likes to trade, hates people that make ammo for a living.

A 10. Holti - Holti, a professor, is afraid as hell to shoot at anything, but boy can she trade

S 11. Sufex - straight from international waters doesn't even make the top 10

A 12. Asp - has a bone to grind going 3 picks later than the clearly superior rain

S 13. Purify - Sounds like a good chance for a solid inactive

A 14. Hyperion - good pick by azn at 14, active player, team player, and not a bad name to boot

S 15. Maddy - Maddy enjoys teamwork, slapping pimps, and generally just getting into trouble. The real question is will Seldum be able to understand his english.

A 16. Milly - oh lord...um.. Milly is...english.. next pick to seldum

S 17. Lotus - seldum, building his inactive portfolio. may only end up with 4 actual players.

A 18. Kinky - great value his own inactive sleeper. kinky enjoys coding, sleeping, and drinking beer

S 19. Poca - Voss a great pick even if he gets podded

A 20. Ron - ron silver. hi ho, AWAY

S 21. Jaws - Jaws, guaranteed to come on at odd hours and stick around for 15 minutes. Could contribute as a miner and a trader

A 22. underdogger - Azn selects a real heartfelt story about an underdog...ger. enjoys free rides to fed, but a solid player

S 23. Mojo - headstrong, young, likes to get into fights he can't win

A 24. Collider - Collider an excellent pick when active. great team player, sexy german body

S 25. Player1 - Player1 a...pick by seldum...no scouting report on player 1, he comes from an unknown location, Seldum must have done some deep research. My sources are telling me player1 is a solid player

A 26. RedRocket - Azn goes aussie. RR could be a great pick or banned after day 2. Will be difficult to get him to op given the timezone differential

S 27. IStandAlone - Seldum selects yet another excellent inactive his name would tell you that his teamwork skills leave something to be desired.

A 28. Zorak - a good pick, always plays human, can be a bit headstrong.

S 29. Page - seldum takes the game's only coder. I don't know if that helps. he's very intelligent, shy, sometimes shows up for ops, and might be able to download maps to begin the game

A 30. ACD - very unreliable but actually one of the better players when he's paying attention which is rare. ACD enjoys getting into uneven fights, drinking in his pub, and fighting milly

S 31. Mal - seldum continuing to pad the inactive portfolio. despite the name, Mal is actually a nice guy.

A 32. Andii - I hear he has a great beard

S 33. SilverX2 - perhaps that will lessen his outrage

A 34. Raj - an excellent hunter sleeper pick.

S 35. Shady_FA - seldum drafts a free agenty not sure of the wisdom in that strategy

A 36. Xotren - solid player when he's on, don't make him angry..or he'll kill you..really

S 37. Ravenger - Rav is often confused with the similarly named hunter

A 38. Lawrence of Arabia - British Beatle Mania! He didn't start the fire.. wait, he usually did

S 39. Naeblis - Seldum goes way up the anger chain and selects some good trash talking

A 40. Holy - AND AZN GOES HOLY. He's the highest ranked player on my draft board. Where JJ was a terribly overvalued pick at 1, Holy provides a lot of value and cash at 40.

S 41. Detania - So seldum selects a lumberjack at 41

A 42. Dilbert - and dilbert goes straight off the comic strip to team AZN

S 43. Everett - followed quickly by mount everett(intentional misspelling)

A 44. Greydeath - Azn now has a bouncer for his team beyond the actual bouncer

S 45. The Dread Pirate - possibly thinking of a rename to the definite pod. but a good contributor

A 46. Kard - highly opinionated player likely to rage quit if he plays but a good opper

S 47. Sheksar - (Jouldax goes silent in the shock)

A 48. ElectricDeath - And azn admits he has erectile...oh wait, he's chosen electricdeath / Evil Defense - or him

S 49. Spacey - Spacey with 0 user score

A 50. Strike

S 51. Zorba

[00:16] <@Jouldax> And that ends the draft
[00:16] <@Jouldax> We hope you've all enjoyed this wonder evening in radio city music hall
[00:16] <@Jouldax> *wonderful
[00:16] <@Jouldax> Seldum started off weak with Sergei and JJ before stepping up and picking Rain
[00:17] <@Jouldax> Azn made a bold statement with holti at 10 and Holy at 40
[00:17] <@Jouldax> both starting with the letters hol
[00:17] <@Jouldax> and that's where the similarities end
[00:17] <@Jouldax> it's been a pleasure commenting for you all
[00:17] <@Jouldax> best of luck to both teams
[00:17] <@Jouldax> and may the pods commence shortly
This is a beat, you just can't touch.....

inactives should get a mark on their names, and be part of a second supplemental draft next time, You can't pick them till after active players are chosen to prevent lopsided "If they are active they would be good" teams.

The problem with that is, it is hard to tell who will actually play or not. There are many players that have not played for many games that end up being the most active this game. There are also players that were extremely active the previous game and near inactive this game.

If we do a draft game again, I would like a list to be populated previously before the draft and have two admin be the ones putting the players into the alliances after the two leaders pick. There was too much confusing during the draft because they were unsure who was who. Also this can be Incorporated into either a google doc for everyone to see during the draft or a live stream if someone can support that from their computer to adjust the grand list as it go. This will make the draft process more exciting and also player's previous draft rank can be next to their name to show if they got drafted higher this game or lower.

Overall the draft has been a success it has brought out pretty solid activity into the game. Last game, JJ couldn't get together 10 people to op all game. Now both alliance have had several ops with 12+ people opping.

The bold part, azn could and did ask who most people are if he was unsure and seldum has played long enough to know who everyone is. If azn was unsure on who someone is and didn't ask isn't that his fault?

People constantly would say something like "Who is hugh this game?" or even seldum admitted that he "forgot" about Bouncer when he picked Crusher over Bouncer. A list would be organized which would cost less confusion. Sort of like how fantasy football/baseball does it. Power Rankings can be determined from previous draft, or even if you wanted you could have each previous leader assign a rank to each of their members based on how valuable they thought they were to the alliance.

Using this as just a example, last draft Holy went #40th in the draft (Which would be #20 in our alliance). I believe he performed MUCH better than being ranked as a 20. But as your side you guys don't really see that. Having a leader assign honest rankings to each of their members would produce some incentive to be a team player and do what your leader says or maybe your leader will give you a poor appraisal.

So of course with this, there would be two of each rankings (two #1, two #2's ect). Could also signify this as #1a #1b with a = team that won the draft game and b = team that lost. Not that our game is so big that people forget who played for who but still a fun idea to give more depth and detail into the draft itself. Also could give some options to the draft leader(s) to maybe they will take a #8a rank over a #5b rank because the team won for a reason so maybe those players mesh well together.
