MGU 1.6 open beta

Attached to this message is the newest version of MGU. It is a zip file with both the source and the executable. It needs no installing that I am aware of, except for the .Net SDK that the old MGU also needs.

I assume this will be made available through mgu.smrealms.de eventually, but for now go ahead and test it.

OKay, here's some things you might want to add...

1. memorizing last open map, so no re-opening is necessary.
2. adding a note about xp/cash values in route generator being based on hourly turns for selected ship
3. sort ship list in the route generator alphabetically
4. smooth scrolling of the map (currently it reloads row by row)
5. add borders between sectors (for those sides that are connected)


I think that's it so far.

Fixed all those, except the refreshing, still working on that. Other things that still need fixing:

- Add a progress bar to route finding
- Add a Trade Calculator
- Add Universe creation. Not sure if anyone uses this, but I would like something to match the map generator in game and if Page thinks this is a good idea, you can generate maps in MGU in the future and load them into the game's map generator through a .smr file.

Comments that start with "This program is stupid, it doesn't even find my route." can be quickly solved by sending me the route. I will even promise not to hunt you on it.

I will repost the newest version soon.

An updated version can be found in the attachment.

Changes:

- Sectors borders are now black
- Trade route finder has a progress bar
- Ships are sorted alphabetically in the trade route finder
- Note on xp and cash values added

Request ability to swap port goods. i.e.

new mgu;

port sells on top
port buys on bottom

SMR galaxy map;

port buys on top
port sells on bottom

Matching buy and sell goods position to the in-game display shouldn't be an option: who would want them the other way around? Guess I mixed them up, so I'll correct it in the next version.

I don't blame you, it always confuses me whether it's buy/sell from the port's perspective or the trader's perspective

Well I meant whilst coding because I think it's stored in the ports perspective, but then I always think of it from the trader's perspective, and it changes about confusing me :(
