MGU efficiency improvement

I am working on something that would significantly increase the effiiency of MGU (think 10x for an inter-galaxy search). It works by storing the shortest routes as you compute them. Shortest routes are stored in the .smr file when you save your maps and are loaded next time you use the map.

The only problem is the size of the map file. I already brought it down from 24Mb to 4 Mb by storing shortest routes recursively, but I'm afraid I can't get it any lower than that. For those for who this is a problem: the old maps can still be used, just not be saved.

I'm doing some final testing and expect to post it here in a couple of days.

I noticed from the game files that Managers and Defense Officers are supposed to grant 3 efficiency each to production efficiency. But in my playthrough, these bonuses are not granted.

Is this intentional? Or is this feature not implemented?
