Smart Trading

Post by XDemonX »

made this post on our message board seems to be just chilling there some of u might disagree with some of my methods but if it helps 1 person its alright i didn't really check it over its pretty lenghty

Yes i am making a post on how to trade smartly some of u may be vets and all hardcore and stuff but maybe this will just refresh ur memory and maybe others have't heard of these technquies but w/e if u know everything please don't spam this with XDX U NOOB WE KNOW THIS...ect..ect.. some people may not and this possibly could help out the alliance a bit.. i guess so here it goes..

First off figure out who has a bird out there...i will try to post all the birds i see/hear of..then you check to see if they are online if they are online DON'T TRADE i don't care if u say i can only trade now i can't trade later on today then save ur turns and wake up at a different time and try to trade again...also check news to see if they got kills in ur gal and check IRC most newb hunters will just sit in IRC talking while they wait for kills (use /whois NAMEHERE for u irc nuubs) i will also try to post their IRC nick when i find out who is hunting.

Ok once you figured out there is no hunters and next step is to make sure u have scouts/mines...Yes it is worth it so go 20+ sectors just to go to CA.....if for some reason u don't have access to CA (or u don't have cash for it) if u can hold any drones at all carry at least 1!! might seem kinda stupid but that 1 drone can save ur life because it will eat one of their weapons..so what a IST is 375/250? then maybe he shot HHG hit and a em flux hit then his CBD hit and ur one drone will eat that cbd pretty much so u have a chance to run....once you get scouts/mine put a 1 scout/mine at each end of ur route if u have quite a bit of mines and want to be uber safe u can put them all around ur route and maybe even mine from fed to ur route so u can follow the trail back to fed safely without plotting.....when u are trading and if u get a scout msg don't click it right away hit CS and run a few sectors out then check it...

Once you have a scout/mine at each end USE LOCAL remember how to get to each end of ur route write it on a peice of paper plotting takes time and u are blind when u plot...so use local...what i like to do since im on dial up is at each end i hit local a few times before making a trade because most the time good hunters will sit 2 out and wait for u so if u hit local a few times before making the trade u could bring em out..LOCAL EVERYTHING even when u are moving to the next end of the route..yes this will take up time but it will save u trust me most hunters don't take the time to think if they are sitting by ur route lol

If there is any scouts on ur route waste the extra turns and kill them...this will tick off the hunter cause u make them waste turns..and could save u..they ahve that lame system that u can buy for 1 credit to put scout reports on ur main screen so they can just CS and see the "Blanky has entered sector blah blah" and they jump IS/move IS there for the kill....Hell even to be safe if ur route isn't far from fed is go kills the scouts and buy the good then run back to fed(make sure its not a illegal good lol) and most the time the hunter will pop on cpl to get in range or you (the 1 trade will give the * by ur name making the hunter think u are activly trading)....also i guess some people like to trade without weapons so if a hunter singles then u won't waste 3 turns everytime u hit a single? i am not 100% sure that is true since i believe its stupid to trader without a weapon so i can kill scouts but whatever floats ur boat

KEEP EMERGENCY TURNS yeah barly anyone does this..mostly the traders u see that don't die the most do this..they keep 20-30 extra turns as emergency turns because if a hunter comes after u can make u panic and run all over the place and get stuck with no turns..Yes this happens alot happens to me alot i am on my last trade and i push it so i can get to fed with zero turns thinking nothing will happen and always the last trade i get attack then move aorund then get stuck in open space with no turns....so if u keep emergency turns u can hit singles and stuff and still be in fed safely :)

click fast lol heres a little tip when u hit on the good u wanna buy hit enter once the page loads(the bargain screen) it will just go faster and save ya time :)

This may soudn kinda weird...but trade like someone is always after u..try to be paranoid as possible it will save u better safe then sorry

I find its better to wake up early to trade like at around 5-7am EST time..this is the time where barly anyone is on..meaning the supply/demand will be hella better and little to no hunters on..try to change up the times u trade don't be predictable

change up ur route!! ever since they have the ammount of turns u used since last death+real time update from rankings in races...its simple to track traders alot of times hunters will track u then decide to get u the next day u trade but if u change ur time/route the poor hunter won't get u :)

Also...this helps alot....there is always someone active in our channel (#pink) so don't be afraid someone to watch cpl for you and set ur nick to highlight ur name so if a trader pops on the person can be like CUDA CUDA HUNTER HUNTER and u can click over to mirc see that and run..(set highlight by going to options highlight, check the Enable Highlight box then click ADD put ur name and w/e in there and click the button once where it says No Sound and it will change to beep click ok and ur good)

Don't talk to anyone when ur trading have ur full attention on trading close outta AIM/MSN/PORN w/e u are doing thats why the highlight thing helps so u don't have to look at IRC unless u here to beep cause of hunter :)

im going to post all the hunters and their IRC nicks here feel free to add to this post if u got tips on better trading or post if u see a hunter and the ship they are in....I hope this helped a little :)

Im adding a few paragraphs for this game. Because they have nerfed alot of stuff for hunters which makes it easier.

Kill all scouts you go over. This game they can't track ur turns, exp nothing. Mostly what they have is scouts. and if u kill their scouts what u are really doing is ripping out their eyes. Yes it will cost some extra turns but it is worth it believe me.

Its always fun to mislead people with ur Exp arrow. What you can try doing is just buying a good then fedding. What this does is give u a Up arrow for 2 min which in that 2 min for all the hunter could know is that ur making hardcore runs back and forth for 2 min so in that time they could expose their self on cpl or something like that. Also what this does is making it sparatic for you so they will keep on guessing.

What really helps this game alot. is local map. If you don't use it and think ur too fast for it. Well start using it if u got use local map that means ur 1 screen ahead of the person hunting you and they lose the element of surprise. LOCAL ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING another big things hunters are doing this game is going mine crazy so local u can evade those :)

This trick will require you to take more time trading, but it is worth it. Once you get to port CS/local a few times before u make the trade. If you want to be super paranoid crazy you can do that a few times then sell a good, then cs/local a few more times then buy a good. Its worth it if u don't wanna die.

Mine/scout...this will give u a head start and a better chance of running. Yes its worth it to run to CA and buy this (besides the fact CA is hunted like crazy).

Yeah just little things you can do this game to help ya trade. i tryed to keep this short as possible because 75% of the SMR people A.D.D. during this haha.
