mgu in smr
what my idea is, is to create an mgu finder inside the smr plot corce screen,
we would have like a tree branch off
for example, you need a weapon, so the main list would be
weapons
ships
bars
banks
goverments
technology
if you wanted weapons, you would click on wapons and it would be setu up just like mgu were it either goes under it, or even goes out toe the right.
with these new maps, and new games mgu probabaly wont beable to read them, so we would almost need something like this in..
currently we just have a plain and simple one, to find the closest weapon shop and stuff, those are good but we should make it so if we want it more specific like a holy hand granade somone is able to search it.
i will attempt to create a picture of my idea.

If we did have this on plot screen I would also like an automatic compilation of locations accessible from the trader screen. It would be like "Personal Database" for the link. There you can access anything your ships computers have come across (works with sharing maps as well). This way you can look up all locations and even sort ports by level, race and possibly distance modifiers.
We dont want to kill MGU/SMC
we jsut want to level the playing field for the majority of newbies. this wont help me or you much jester but it will help the new guy tremendously.
I like the shared maps database of locations but ports and routes should be left out.

Ingenius, Armory Armory v2, Lords of the PingsSuckas, AoC, Green Skulls, DoW, Shadow, MoM, Xenocide, NE, ST, HA, PI, FI, Armada, DC, LoP, AS, Lom, MH, RC
i think we should do away with mgu and smuLotuS wrote:We dont want to kill MGU/SMC

lets make it so we have to find the best routes looking at GALAXY MAP
newbs should have the same advantage as the vets..
and if anything, news are allmost better, because they actually look for there routes instead of having a little tool do it for them..

i agree with poca here....
MGU/SMC won't work with 1.5 as it is, a new program would have to be created to run with it. So i say screw it, save someone the coding time, and lets impliment what poca's got going here...we can tweak it, but let people have to figure out their own routes for a while.
But maybe thats just me and poca being crazy galwanians.
