Space Stations

Post by Blade »

This has been talked about before, but I think it’s a big plus, if done right, they should be alliance run, each planet galaxy should have no ports, but alliances have the option to build a space port in their galaxy that trades goods, type depends on the buildings on the space station

Build an engineering bay and the space will demand machinery and sell say copper

Build a tech lad and that demands circuitry and sell computers

Build a farming bay demands wood, sells food.

But this takes a massive financial demand to keep running from the alliance, stop pumping in money and the demand goes down. Alliances should have to pay for their own route. This would be similar to planets but you can move it, say 1-2 sectors a day. Another thing the leader has to manage.

Needs a bit more thought but I think this would be a great move in the right direction.

If you can get to the old SMR Beta, we had planet ports. They were in the process of being fine tuned when Azool started working on 1.5. It worked very well.

I still say you should have to use a tow ship (or a few) to pull them.

Good idea, more inclusion of the alliance

So this exists somewhere in the beta code?

I am afraid I don't understand how space stations work. Besides, limiting them to planet galaxies makes them not available for anyone but the big alliances.

They wouldn't have to limit them, but it gives another angle and something more for players to build on and maintain

I like the idea of space stations, but the way I see space stations is you can build them anywhere you want. They have turrents, CDs for defends and you can park in them. They are idea for small alliances that can not compete for a planet galaxy. They can build them in a small neutral galaxy and mine around them for added defends.
