Scan not working

There's a newbie parked in sector 573. I scan that sector everyday and it always returns 20. Today it show 0 that no one is there but he is there. So whats happening.

I think what suppose to happen is when a newbie doesn't login over a long period of time. You should no longer be able to see him. But what is happening is if you scan the sector it shows that he is not there. If you are using local maps you can see him or if you enter the sector you can see him. This is if I have this right then the bug is that he is only invisible to scans.

Can I buy one of these scan invisibility gadgets for my ship? I think we may have stumbled onto a cool new hardware for ships.

Sorry, I did look into this and it is the case that after X time the player drops off the sector scan but not off the local map, it is in my plans to sort this out properly but I've been using up all my holiday time recently so that I don't lose it and SMR has fallen into the background whilst off visiting people
