If you are having trouble surviving then perhaps you need to move to a different galaxy. Whilst in the game goto Rankings, then select Sector kills. From here you can see where the most deadly sectors are, if that sector is in the galaxy you are in then I suggest you move before leaving Newbie protection. Omar appears to be the most dangerous galaxy with 4 sectors on the list, including the Bank!!
