Question about rating

Post by SteveG »

The first number is Attack, right?
Logically, the second number is Defense??

Fed protection is determined by your Attack strength? Or is it defense? Or is it the Attack divided by Defense?

On the Fallen Angels website it shows the equation as being 3+(Alignment/150). Alignment isn't implemented yet, right??

So, its a Power rating of 3 to get protection, how do I know my Power rating :?: :?: :)

PD(potential dmg) = sum of total all wpn dmg (shield+armour)
CD = combat drones, S = Sheids, A = Armour

Attack rating = PD/40 + CD/50
Defense = (S+A+3CD) /100

E.g. DM has 6 HP, 50 CD hold, 825 armour and shield
With standard wpn outfit, HHG + 3xEMFlux + 2xBigDaddy.
So PD = 300+0 + 3x(100+50) + 2x(0+250) = 1250
Attack rating = 1250/40 + 50/50 = 32.25
Defense rating = (825+825+3x50)/100 = 18

So my DM rating would be 32/18. To extend this info, enemy ship scan will = defense rating x10. So DM will scan as 180.

The power ratings on the wpns are more to do with the limit on the number of wpns of that rating you can load up on your ship. Here are the rules:
1x rating 5 wpn (e.g. 1x HHG or Nuke only)
2x rating 4 wpn (e.g. 2x Thevian Shield Disperser or 2 Human Harm D)
3x rating 3 wpn (e.g. 3x Human Torps or Emflux)
Don't remember much about 2 and 1 ratings, anyone ?

This was from what I learned in SM. I think this is the same for SMR. Anyone agree or disagree with me ?

All pretty much spot on I believe Flyboy. I think you might be limited to 4 level 2 and any number of level 1 weapons, but since most ships don't have nearly as many HP to try that many weapons it becomes virtually inconsequential.

Thanks Fly, I'll update my site when I get the chance, but since they are "moving" I haven't been able to access it for a while. Might have to change hosts when the new game comes up.

The scans of friendly vessels in an adjacent sector will show as his attack rating.

So for Fly's example the 32/18 DM of a friend would give you a Friendly vessel scan of 32.
