User Ranking
User ranking is determined from experience you've gained trading and the kills you have. Once you reach fledgling you become a "vet" which means you can't see non-vets in the racial galaxies. Also you get access to the top racial ships as well as the federal and UG ships.
To get to a specific level you either have to get both the exp limit AND the kill limit OR the kill OR exp limit for next level. The limits are shown if you click the user ranking link.
Other than the vet status there is no real use for user level yet, except to compare your stats with your friends'
