If you have newbie turns you can not be attacked by other traders or damaged by forces. You recieve 500 when you start a game and 100 each time you die.
One hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the most skillful.
Subduing the other's military without battle is the most skillful.

Newbie turns tell you how long you are unequivocally protected. So long as you have 1 or more, you can not be harmed. When you run out, make sure that you are protected in some way when you log off (whether you land on a planet or seek the protection of a federal beacon).

Newbie turns do not regenerate (except when you die - then you receive 100 newbie turns). Normal turns regenerate at a rate dependent on your ship. (If you check the Trader Status, you will see the speed of your ship in turns gained per hour).
