Was thinking of new technologies that could add to the game.

Individual weapons that are highly accurate against fast ships with high maneuvering.

Harware similar to nijarin drone scrambler which increases weapon accuracy.

Hardware similar to cloak which "blurs" the ship's exact position. This makes them harder to hit and decreases either the accuracy or the damage done by attackers. Like cloak, would need to be turned ON for it to work.

Hardware that amplifies and increases damage done to ports and planets, no effect on ships.

Individual weapons that are designed for blasting ports/planets but do little to nothing against ships.


These could possibly be developed by one of the new races (like cloak for WQ, IG for Salvene, etc.)...or be neutral but very expensive to buy.

these seem like nice technological advances but not worthy to have a race stake there claim on it

Definitely some balancing issues here, but I like the scout jammer. I also thought of a Combat Jammer (makes opponent weapons less accurate), Defense enhancer (I KNOW we talked about armor patches in some other topic which I can't find right now), Rocket Booster (increases turn speed), Cargo Bay Expander (pretty self explanatory), and Laser Scope (makes weapons more accurate).

Each of these would require a trade-off, with most taking up one of your HP slots.

If we are going to allow further customization of existing ships then we should really consider eliminating more of the unused ships. The customization of ships is really the same as having a ton of ships for slightly different preferences....we should focus on one or the other because both just becomes too unwieldy and difficult to balance.
