This has been in since I added the irc channel thing to preferences :P
The only thing you have to do (and it says it where you set alliance channel) is to join your channel with mibbit, get ops and then do "/autojoin on", that allows people to automatically join that channel with no prompt (otherwise they have to confirm their name before they get logged into IRC.
