Anti-Auto Mapper

Post by B.O.B. »

It is apparently gone, and I would really appreciate it if it stayed gone. If you don't know what I am talking about, for each galaxy in the galaxy map, locations and ports all had a different random string.

So in Alskant it might be adfeb3538af378 for the Food icon, and 6439adfecb34589734cb in the Creonti galaxy.

Personally I would it to stay gone for 2 reasons:

1. MGU gets to get hte maps directly from the DB based on what the user has explored.
2. I have another SMRTool at my site, that I would like to build that requires the current game map. While I can get around the anti-automapper script, it is quite the pain.

So please don't put it back in.

Edit:
Oh and the anti-automapper probably slowed galaxy map loading down a little...And apparently it is gone in the Local map too, which is probably why the Local map loads a little quicker than it used too.

It would be unfair to allow MGU the data without allowing other tools the same info imo.

This wasn't "Implemented" per say, but .smr file replaces the usefulness of auto mappers.
